Plötulopi is an Icelandic single-filament yarn. The yarn is a fragile knit, but thanks to its long fibers it makes a warm, soft, airy and durable woolen knit.

Usually this yarn is knitted with two or three strands.

Density when knitting in single strand: 19 s = 10 cm, needle size 4½ mm
Density when knitting with two strands: 14 sts = 10 cm, needle size 5½ mm

Some of the keris are sold without a belt. However, the lots for sale are always made from the same lot in order to minimize possible color differences. The loose thread breaks easily, but the ends of the thread can be easily connected by felting. Twist the ends of the thread together in your hands, this way you can make the threads uniform again. Since the thread breaks easily, it is recommended to start making the ball from the middle of the ball.
