— Show original Light and warm Icelandic fleece yarn for multi-layered knits
Plötulopi is an Icelandic single-ply worsted yarn that is at its best in airy and warm knits. Although the yarn is delicate to handle, its long fibers combine to create a durable and very lightweight result.
The yarn is often knitted in one, two or three strands, allowing you to adjust the result from a thinner, airy knit to a thicker, warmer surface. It is well suited for sweaters, for example, where a traditional Icelandic look is desired.
The yarn breaks easily, but it is easy to join the strands together by hand felting. It is best to start knitting from the middle of the ball to keep the work more manageable.
Material: 100% Icelandic wool
Size: 100 g = approx. 300 m
Knitting density: 1 strand 19 sts = 10 cm, 2 strands 14 sts = 10 cm
Needles: approx. 4.5 mm (1-strand), approx. 5.5 mm (2-strand)
