In the third poem of the Kalevala, Väinämöinen and Joukahainen compete for knowledge and wisdom, and Väinämöinen sings to his rival's swamp. In her panic, Joukahainen promises her sister Väinämöinen a bride. Joukahainen's mother is very happy that her daughter is marrying a big and important man, but the girl is dissatisfied with her engagement to the old gray-bearded Väinämöinen. The sweater is inspired by Finnish swamp and nature, as well as Baltic and Scandinavian themes. You can find other sweaters inspired by the Kalevala on my Instagram account @ihtiriekkoknits
The Salt Sweater is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom. Cut and shorter, dropped sleeves. You can easily create a longer sweater by adding length to your body and / or sleeves. If you decide to make these changes, make sure you have extra yarn balls.
There are a lot of long floats in color jobs, and the best results are achieved if you ensure the dominance of the yarn. By this I mean that you always carry a contrasting thread on the needle below the main thread and tie long floats by twisting long watches that are over 5 stitches.
Suitable yarns are, for example:
Vuonue Pentti
Drops Puna
Drops Merino extra fine

Round needles and stocking needles 3 mm (2.5 US) and 3.5 mm (4 US). Sewing marks.
