Product description —
Show original The popular Willamagia teaches a new enjoyable way to knit and shape popular Icelandic knits!
The designs in the book are inspired by Icelandic knitwear. In the shirts, the embroidery loops that have become familiar from Icelandic knits are repeated. Unlike traditional Icelandic knits, the shirt patterns in the book are all knitted from top to bottom. This enables a better fitting of the unfinished sweater, as well as modification of the sweater according to the measurements of its wearer. Another thing that separates the designs in my book from Icelandic knitwear is the design of the clothes. Traditionally, sweaters have been knitted in the same front and back pieces, which has made it possible to wear the garment evenly, because it could be put on either way. The patterns in the book can be knitted in this traditional style if you wish. In the knitting instructions, however, you can find instructions for designing clothes using shortened layers. The design of the necks increases the fit and comfort of the sweater.
In addition to shirts, the book also contains accessories that you can use to complete your outfit. I have provided several yarn options for the sweaters, from which you can choose the option that best suits your purpose and budget.
The clarity of the instructions is extremely important to me. I remember well what it was like to self-teach with insufficient instructions. I try to write my instructions in such a way that even a beginner needlewoman can get by. I believe that anyone can navigate even a more challenging technique, as long as the instructions are opened and explained well enough. My style of writing instructions differs from the style of writing knitting instructions that is generally used in Finland. My instructions are long because they are detailed. I feel that as a knitting designer, my job is to write the knitting pattern in such detail that the knitter can only enjoy knitting.
All patterns and sizes in this book have been trial knitted. With the help of test needles, I have tested the fit of different sizes, the functionality of the model and the clarity of the instructions. Every model has been test knitted by knitters of different levels, from beginners to experienced connoisseurs.
The book contains a total of 16 instructions.
