Product description —
Show original The last, fiftieth poem of the Kalevala tells about a maiden Marjatta from Korea, who becomes pregnant from a lingonberry and gives birth to a son. The boy is baptized as the king of Karelia, and the angry Väinämöinen leaves in his copper boat, leaving his songs and poems as a legacy for posterity. In Kalevala Marjata's story, you can see similarities to the Bible's story about Mary and the sinless baby Jesus. The poem in the Kalevala is a combination of two folk poems, Luoja virre from the Catholic Middle Ages and Väinämöinen's sentence.
The Marjatta wool jacket is knitted as a closed knit from the bottom up and stitched open. The fitted sweater has embroidery on the hem, cuffs and hem.
