I don't use anything other than these long looping sticks these days. Socks etc. both are completed at once with their own skeins, the best technique for this is in the shirt sleeves: When you knit both sleeves at once, you don't need to knit the world's boring second sleeve separately :-)

I have switched to using only Chiaogoo red lace circular needles, they have a flexible cable and can be used to knit even small cuffs. Sometimes I have had to tape the index finger of my right hand because the tip of the needle makes a hole in it. Now you have to learn to weave in such a way that the eyes slide right off the needles.
