The smell of tar is enchanting! Tarred jute has a delicious tar scent. Craft, knit, crochet or even tie beautiful sauna decorations. Tarred jute is popular for sauna textiles and many types of sauna decorations. The smell of tar brings a nice atmosphere to the sauna. There are approx. 18 meters in a 100g roll, the thickness of the jute is approx. 3mm. The tarring of jute is done in Finland. A mixture of wood tar and pine turpentine is used in the tarring. The pine turpentine thins the tar to a suitable consistency so that it is absorbed into the jute. When the jutes have been tarred with this mixture, they are drained and allowed to dry in a sufficiently warm place so that the turpentine evaporates completely and thus only tar remains in the product.
